Last April 8th, 2016 came out the workshop “Experiences on phosphorus recovery in WWTP ” organized by Calagua research group from University of Valencia within PHORWater project. This LIFE+ project, coordinated by DAM – Depuración de Aguas del Mediterráneo, counts as well as partners with Calagua research group and LAGEP research laboratory from University Claude Bernard Lyon 1, aims to show the viability and sustainability of phosphorus recovery in WWTPs, a subject on which focused this day.
Laura Pastor, as project coordinator, introduced the current situation of phosphorus and explained PHORWater LIFE + project, with the financial contribution of the LIFE+ Programme from the European Commission.
Right away, Alberto Bouzas presented the results of the project and the progress achieved so far.
University of Santiago de Compostela, Canal de Isabel II and Canal Isabel II Gestión also collaborated in the workshop, sharing their experiences and offering their opinions on the ways to follow to promote phosphorus recovery, essential fact if we try to guarantee the sustainability of our agri-food model.
